The Jerome State Park, formerly the Douglas Mansion owned by Jimmy "Rawhide" Douglas in the late 1800's early 1900's. Jimmy owned the mines that produced over 1 billion dollars of primarily copper, gold & silver. The monsoon season and cooler temperatures keep the clouds down low over the Verde Valley beyond.
About Ron Chilston
Ron began photographing the world around him in Wyoming at age 9. He then built his own darkroom in his closet by age 10. Ron moved from Wyoming to Phoenix in 1985. He spent two decades in the Custom Photo Lab business in Phoenix Arizona before tiring of all of the things that the big city brings. In 2005 he moved to Jerome Arizona. Jerome is on the National Historic Registry and has some of the most amazing views from their mile high vantage point. Many of the photographs on this website are the views from Jerome, including Sedona, the San Francisco Peaks and the Mogollon Rim.
